*Children & Youth*
"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up." Deuteronomy 6:6-7
"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." Ephesians 6:4
"Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck." Proverbs 1:8-9
"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." Psalm 127:3
Children are blessings given specifically by God to their parents. As such, Grace Covenant accepts the responsibility to come alongside parents in nurturing and caring for their children in the Lord. We give a high priority to encouraging parents to develop their God-ordained parental duties for raising their children (Deutoronomy 6:6-7)
These duties include the following:
-Instruct your children
-Be a good example
-Discipline your children
-Pray for your children
We provide resources and model how to instruct children in our Sunday morning age-integrated Bible study. Our hope and constant prayer is that God will save our children, and they grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord to become a mighty force for the cause of God and Truth in their generation.
"God has intrusted to parents a most solemn and yet a most precious privilege... The task assigned you is no easy one, especially in these...evil days. Nevertheless, if trustfully and earnestly sought, the grace of God will be found sufficient here... The Scriptures supply us with rules to go by, with promises to lay hold of and, we may add, with fearful warnings lest we treat the matter lightly." A. W. Pink
